Thanks for having me here for this interview. I am Ndeye Labadens. I am an author and founder at LANN Consultings and currently enrolled in a Doctoral in Business Administration or DBA.  In my DBA project, I intend to focus on helping my fellow authors reach out to the perfect readers. I love sharing my experiences to help others to be successful and learn from it. As long as I can help through my writing, I am happy to write.

Would you tell us what your book is about and how long did it take you to finish it?

Each of Secret Success series takes me the time from my previous book until the next to be launched. The book 2 took longer because I wanted to share two launches in it. A free promo and the 99cents promo. I shared here the “Book 1 Launch” and “The Relocation without Dislocation” launch.

Why did you write this book?

Before and during my first launch I was monitoring my activities to be able to check the level of work and success after the “Australian Memories” Launch. I was studying what works and what did not work to be able to learn the metrics of my system. I also knew that the travel books categories are competitive with big companies like Lonely Planet. It was a huge challenge. I decided to share my story and keep updating it. The feedback went from scarce to more and more. I wrote it in my LinkedIn groups and realized that much more people were in need. I decided to publish  a book series where I share the story of my book launches. This was  how I started the Secret Success series.

What was the hardest and easiest part about writing your latest book?

Good question Eleanor! I think the hardest part of the writing was  sharing my personal feelings during the launch. I had to share my struggles and my winning strategies. I find it easiest to share the successful decisions. I had to admit failure, and it helped me grow up as an author. Sharing those hardest and easiest parts provide a great benefit for my readers.

What are the major challenges that you have faced in your career and how did you overcome them?

My major challenge as an author was on my “Secret Book 1” launch, where I had a bad review. It was a one-star review from a reader who was not nice, and her criticism was more of jealousy than constructive criticism. I had to overcome that feeling personally. Even, if my book became a bestseller, I needed some time to heal my feelings and get back on track before launching my next book “Relocation Without Dislocation”. What advice would you give new authors especially those who fear criticism and rejection?

Never quit writing. Take constructive criticism and avoid nasty ones. Not everybody will like you. You have to focus on your “Why” and honestly believe and focus on your goals. If you have doubt, you can join fellow authors of your category for support and honest criticism.
